Walter's in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is an absolute gem. It's one of the few places that has maintained its pandemic-era outdoor dining setup, providing a cozy and safe dining experience. We visited on a Monday evening, and the restaurant was bustling, a clear sign of its popularity in the community. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and Walter's certainly did not disappoint. We shared the steak fries, lacinato kale salad, and dry wings. Every dish was incredibly delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The wine selection was impressive, and the drinks complemented our meal perfectly. Special shoutout to our waitress, Amy, who was exceptionally pleasant and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Walter's combines great food, a warm atmosphere, and excellent service, making it a must-visit spot in Fort Greene. We will definitely be back!

Walter's is FABULOUS! A friend and I came for happy hour and basically stayed through dinner. We each had a glass of happy hour wine [$9] and half a dozen half priced oysters [$1.75 each]. Separately, off the Afternoon menu, we also ordered the artichoke dip [$15], the French dip sandwich [$26], deviled eggs [$7], roasted beets [$16], and finally, a slice of the house made key lime pie, which was out of this world and a generous size for two people to share. Honestly, the French dip sandwich was outstanding. The fries served on the side were crispy, salty, and perfect - there was also a lot of them, which I appreciated. The oysters were fresh and delicious as well, especially with the accoutrements. I probably could have done without the artichoke dip, it's not my favorite to begin with but the toast pieces on the side were a hit. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant started filling up around 5:30/6pm. The air conditioner was also turned UP which, Walter's, deserves five stars just for that. The outside area of the restaurant is sidewalk seating which overlooks Fort Greene Park. It would be nice to sit out there when it's not 100 degrees outside.

I may be from St. Louis, but I know a good french dip when I see one. Walter's french dip is high on my list. I stopped by for lunch and sat at the bar. I, of course, had to get their paloma. It was good. It got the job done for a paloma(I am a paloma snob, it is indeed my death bed cocktail). And, i ordered my french dip. About 45 minutes rolled around and the bar tender handed me the check. I thought this was strange to pay before my meal, but I paid and they told me to have a nice day. I indicated I was still waiting on my food. The bartender was insanely apologetic got one made on the fly for me and even refunded me my meal. An insanely kind gesture he did not need to do. Now, for the flavors. Crispy, salty, shoestring fries: a masterclass. If you do not like shoestring fries it is time to grow up. Walter's fries are pictured in Merriam Webster's when you search for 'perfection'. The wagyu french dip is dang near perfection as well. The baguette is an important component to a french dip. This baguette is superb. And, it is even charred, a touch I have never seen before. I have seen toasted, but not charred like this. As any good baguette, the baguette is crunchy on the crust, but once you penetrate that protective exterior the bread is airy and soft. Horseradish, tender beef, and gruyere all work together to elevate this french dip. A little salty, a little creamy, and rich with the au jus. Walter's will be one of the meals I miss the most leaving New York. Bravo.

Fries and sandwich were exactly what I needed at the time. Walter was on the way back home and we stopped by for exactly what we needed. I wish I could give an extra half star cuz I think it's so close to a 4 star. I feel I have to give it the 4th star cuz it knows what it's good at and does it well. Sat outdoors which was nice and the staff was pretty good. They helped to keep folks from smoking near the restaurant and disturbing other diners which I appreciate.

Came here with a friend for a quick dinner on a warm Saturday evening. We had a reservation and waited at the bar maybe 5 minutes for our table to be ready. Service was good however they were busy that night. We order the scallops: great; deviled eggs: great; chicken wings: good and the calamari: great but the clams casino was a little off. We didn't like it and sent it back. The filling was mushy and too bready. The servers apologized and took it off the bill immediately. So no issues there. This spot is not huge but adequate and contemporary. I would give them another try. 4 star

4.5.... Round up to 5 cause I think this may have been one of the best burgers I've had in New York City? It was excellent and really executed perfectly. Add in great ambience and service and awesome drinks, recommend their espresso martini, and I would definitely go back and recommend to others.

This is a cute place. I wish they had more restrooms as there's only one for the entire place for all genders. The line is fairly long because of that reason. Just be wary of it. I wish I could've made it to their happy hour, but perhaps next time. We chose this place as it is close to BAM. There are different menus for each time, such as lunch, brunch, happy hour, and dinner. Service wise, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Anyway, I ordered the fried chicken, which came with garlic mashed potatoes, bacon gravy, and spicy honey. The mashed potatoes were really good. However, the chicken was a bit on the drier side. I wouldn't order the chicken again. I tried the mussels and fries from my friends' dishes, which was alright, but nothing special. All in all, I would just order the mashed potatoes on the side with French fries for a meal instead.

I've been to Walter's several times over the past few 6 I was happy to see the quality of food and service has not changed post pandemic. I recently came with a friend who was visiting from Fl and was worried she might not like the fried chicken that I recommend. It was a hit! She cleaned her plate. I had the roster chicken meal and the portion size was good, and the food was flavorful. We also ordered an artichoke dip and deviled eggs. The meal was perfection, and I recommend dining at Walter's often.
